Interested in spending your spring semester in Hawaii as a congressional intern? 

Congresswoman Mazie Hirono (D-HI) is currently accepting applications for internship positions available in the Hawaii district office for spring 2012. This internship provides opportunities to gain firsthand knowledge of how a Congressional district office operates, engage with constituents, and develop research skills related to public policy. Duties will include, but are not limited to, constituent service, answering phones, drafting correspondence, researching community issues, and assisting staff. Qualified applicants should possess a professional and courteous demeanor, good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to multi-task, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, interest in the governmental process, and an awareness of community and cultural issues. A small stipend may be available.
