Waikupanaha Street Improvements - Island of Oahu ($10,800,000)
The extension of Waikupanaha Street from Kalanianaole Highway to Lughole Street in Waimanalo on the island of Oahu will reduce traffic congestion and improve safety by offering another route, accommodate future growth of 250 more house lots, open up land for community economic development (20 acre business park), recreation (playgrounds), and agricultural production and research.
It will create jobs and a revenue stream for the Waimanalo Hawaiian Homestead Association to fund its nonprofit community programs. Waimanalo is a rural community in need of more jobs and light industrial space. The total estimated cost of the project is $13,500,000.
