Reconstruction and Rehabilitation - Island of Maui ($11,200,000)
This project is required to rehabilitate several highway transportation corridors that are in dire need of repair in Kahului, Maui.
All three systems are urban major collectors. Work consists of reconstructing and overlaying existing pavement sections with asphalt concrete paving. Restriping and adjustment of utility manhole frames and covers and ADA compliance will also be addressed. This project will improve major transportation corridors within Kahului town, linking the harbor, schools, businesses, shopping centers, health care facilities, and residential areas. In addition, the project will create numerous employment opportunities and stimulate the economy within the core of Kahului town. The total estimated cost of of the project is $14,000,000.
